Our work - Antenatal, Perinatal and Postnatal Therapy

You are not alone in feeling this way. Pregnancy and new parenthood are often described as joyful, magical times—but for many, they are also filled with worry, exhaustion, and intense emotional change.

You are not alone in feeling this way

Pregnancy and new parenthood are often described as joyful, magical times—but for many, they are also filled with worry, exhaustion, and intense emotional change. You might be feeling anxious, low, disconnected, overwhelmed—or even unsure who you are anymore.

Whether you are expecting a baby, adjusting to life with a newborn, or navigating fertility struggles or birth trauma, therapy can offer a calm and supportive space just for you.

What Support in Therapy Can Look Like

1. Space to talk honestly

You do not have to "keep it together" here. This is a space to share whatever is coming up—fear, guilt, grief, joy, or anger—without judgement. You are allowed to feel it all.

2. Understanding the deeper impact

Pregnancy and early parenthood can stir up old patterns, past wounds, or unspoken expectations. Therapy can help make sense of the emotional layers that often surface during this time—whether that is related to your own upbringing, identity, relationships, or sense of self.

3. Tools for navigating anxiety, stress, and change

I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches—including CBT, mindfulness, and attachment-based work—to help you manage anxiety, overwhelm, intrusive thoughts, or low mood. Together, we will find what works best for you.

4. Reconnecting with yourself

Therapy can support you in rebuilding confidence, setting boundaries, processing loss (including miscarriage or birth trauma), and adjusting to this new phase of life in a way that honours your needs as well as your baby's.

Common reasons people come to therapy during this time:

  • Antenatal anxiety and depression
  • Birth trauma recovery
  • Fertility struggles
  • Identity shifts
  • Relationship changes
  • Pregnancy loss support
  • Parenting fears
  • Postnatal depression

I felt so lost after having my baby. Kathleen helped me process the birth trauma and reconnect with myself as both a mother and an individual. I finally feel like I can enjoy this time with my daughter.

My Approach

Non-judgemental and warm – However you are feeling, there is space for it here.

Mother-centred and parent-informed – You are a whole person, not just a parent. I work holistically, supporting your emotional wellbeing through this life transition.

Flexible and attuned – I offer a gentle, adaptable space depending on your stage of pregnancy or parenthood—whether you are sleep-deprived, navigating baby loss, or need short-term grounding tools.

It is OK not to feel OK right now

Whatever stage you are at, you deserve support. You do not need to have hit crisis point to reach out. Therapy can help you feel more grounded, more connected, and more like yourself again.
